ATE develops Integrated Mission Systems:
The ATE entrepreneurial spirit, mixed with creative business sense, has led the company to astounding achievements. The Hawk Navigation and Weapons System has seen ATE being awarded the South African Award for Excellence in the Management of Innovation with BAE Systems transferring Design Authority thereof to ATE. The Mi-24 Helicopter Upgrade with new sights, cannons and missiles has been taken a step further with newly developed composite main rotor blades and life extending sand filters for a new international client. The Vulture Tactical UAV has found operational success within the South African Army whilst securing its first export contract. Constituting the main projects within ATE’s Fixed Wing, Helicopter and UAV Divisions, ATE has established an international track record of success.
ATE develops Long-Term Strategic Alliances:
Behind such superior products, you will find internationally renowned engineers and technicians, not only of ATE but of all the International companies who have created an alliance with ATE during many years. Looking forward, BAE Systems and ATE plan to capture the Hawk Mk 50/60 Upgrade Market with ATE aiming to give the Mirage V a new Beyond Visual Range missile capability with partners that could include MBDA, Thales, Finnmecanica and SAAB Avitronics. An agreement with Eurocopter could see ATE equipping light and medium weight Eurocopter helicopters with weapons systems that would include the Ingwe missile.

ATE approach is quite unique as it focuses its skills on integration.
Unlike its competitors, ATE is not an equipment supplier and therefore we listen carefully to customer requirements and we endeavour to satisfy the Customer by proposing the most efficient and most cost-effective solution.
ATE competitors generally try to sell as much of their own equipment as possible. We are in turn more flexible to accommodate specific equipment or weapon selected by the Customer.
ATE is keen to carry out jobs on site together with the Customer and we readily propose Transfer of Technology and/or Production: the Customer becomes a real Partner. In this respect, ATE capabilities have been demonstrated through many successful achievements.
ATE’s activities cover fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, UAV and land vehicles which gives ATE a unique ability to provide Customers with global solutions.
ATE operates 2 industrial sites: the main one is located in South Africa, the second industrial facility, home of ATE’s mission sensor capability, has been developed in the South of France. This facility in France is poised to expand due to new contracts and new partnerships.
ATE is very focused on logistics and Maintenance. Our Mi-24 experience has for example helped us to develop a completely new Maintenance system in order to suit our customer’s requirements.. In addition, ATE is working together with its various partners to provide fast and reliable maintenance and overhaul capabilities in Africa.
ATE is proud of its Customer satisfaction and Customer partnership oriented policy!
